1. Introductiong

Lane of Trust Foundation ("Lane of Trust," "Foundation," "we," "us," or "our") respects the privacy of donors, volunteers, beneficiaries, website visitors, partners, and others who interact with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we may collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information in connection with our website, fundraising activities, charitable programs, communications, and related services.

This document is intended for the Foundation's public-facing website and should be reviewed by legal counsel before publication.

Lane of Trust may use personal information to process donations and recurring contributions; provide receipts and acknowledgments; administer fundraising, volunteer, and charitable programs; respond to inquiries; maintain donor, accounting, governance, compliance, and program records; communicate project updates and fundraising opportunities where permitted; improve our website and programs; prevent fraud or misuse; and comply with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, sanctions-screening, audit, and recordkeeping obligations.

4. Donor Privacy

Lane of Trust values donor privacy and does not sell donor personal information.

We may publicly recognize donors when appropriate and with permission or where a donor has chosen public recognition. We will make reasonable efforts to honor requests for anonymity when practical and legally permissible.

Donor information may be shared with service providers or professional advisers as reasonably necessary to process donations, maintain records, provide services, comply with law, or operate the Foundation.

5. Payment, Fundraising, And Other Service Providers

Lane of Trust may use third-party fundraising, payment, banking, email, analytics, website-hosting, donor-management, and other service providers. Information submitted through a third-party service may also be governed by that provider's privacy policy and terms.

Users should review the privacy practices of third-party services they choose to use. Lane of Trust is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third-party websites or services.

6. Recurring Donations

If you establish a recurring donation, information necessary to administer that contribution may be maintained by Lane of Trust and/or the applicable payment or fundraising provider. Requests to change or cancel recurring giving may be handled through the provider's tools or by contacting Lane of Trust.

7. Cookies And Analytics

The website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, understand usage, remember preferences, improve performance, or support analytics. Third-party services embedded in or linked from the website may use their own cookies or tracking technologies.

Where required by applicable law, Lane of Trust will provide appropriate notices or choices regarding non-essential cookies or similar technologies.

9. Beneficiary, Child, And Vulnerable-person Information

Lane of Trust is committed to protecting the dignity and privacy of beneficiaries, particularly children and vulnerable persons. The Foundation will seek to limit unnecessary collection or public disclosure of sensitive beneficiary information.

Photographs, videos, testimonials, or identifiable stories involving children or vulnerable persons should be used only when lawful, appropriate, and consistent with applicable consent and safeguarding standards.

10. Children's Online Privacy

The public website and donation services are not intended to knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13 without appropriate authorization. If Lane of Trust learns that information from a child was collected through the website in a manner inconsistent with applicable law, it will take reasonable steps to address the issue.

This section does not prevent the Foundation from lawfully maintaining information necessary to administer charitable programs serving children.

Lane of Trust may disclose personal information to service providers assisting with Foundation operations; accountants, auditors, attorneys, insurers, banks, and other professional advisers; governmental or regulatory authorities when required or permitted by law; or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property, charitable assets, beneficiaries, or legal interests. Lane of Trust does not sell donor personal information.

Lane of Trust will use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of information it maintains. However, no website, electronic transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

13. Data Retention

Lane of Trust retains information for periods reasonably necessary to carry out its charitable and operational purposes and satisfy legal, tax, accounting, grant, donor, audit, and recordkeeping obligations. Foundation records are also subject to the Foundation's Document Retention and Destruction Policy.

14. Privacy Requests

Subject to applicable law and reasonable verification, individuals may contact Lane of Trust to request correction of contact information, changes to communication preferences, or information regarding personal information maintained by the Foundation. Certain records may need to be retained for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, donation-substantiation, or other legitimate purposes.

The website may contain links to websites or services operated by third parties. Lane of Trust does not control those parties and is not responsible for their privacy practices, content, or security. Visiting a third-party site is subject to that site's own terms and privacy policy.

Lane of Trust is based in Washington State, United States, and may conduct activities internationally. If you provide information from outside the United States, your information may be processed or stored in the United States or other jurisdictions in connection with Foundation operations, subject to applicable law.
